We need the gift of your time and talent! Volunteers are the lifeblood of APL.
We look to volunteers to walk dogs, socialize cats, cuddle with kittens and puppies, bathe, and groom animals in need, show off pets at adoption events, and so many other hands-on interactions with pets.
We also need volunteers to help with fund-raising, marketing, and administrative tasks.
We could use anyone with construction, fencing, and landscaping skills to help with various projects around our shelter.
Whatever your talents and interests, we have a role for you.
The first step in the process is to complete and submit a Volunteer Application.
Once we approve your application, we will schedule you for an orientation session.
– You must be at least 16 years of age.
– Please bring picture ID with you to your volunteer orientation session.
– If you’re under 18, you will need to bring a parent/guardian with you to orientation to fill out waivers.
If you would need special accommodations to volunteer and interact specifically with our animals, please let us know. (e.g., wheelchair access, visual/hearing aids, etc.). Please note that we cannot always accommodate these requests due to our small staff and facility. Please contact the APL Manager, before applying to volunteer if you have concerns or questions.
APL is a non-profit animal rescue organization. The information provided to APL by completing this form will enable APL to direct you towards an appropriate rewarding experience.
