Adopting one animal won’t change the world,
but it will change the world for that one animal

BUIE

ABC Columbia’s Pet of the Week

Buie is a sweet senior lady looking for a peaceful place to enjoy her golden years.

Buie first came to us as a tiny puppy back in 2014. Over the years she has been adopted twice, and sadly returned twice – both times simply because her families had to move to apartments that didn’t allow pets. Through it all, Buie has remained the same loving, loyal girl she’s always been.

Now 12 years old, Buie is embracing the slower, sweeter pace of senior life. She would love to be the only pet in the home so she can soak up all the attention (and all the butt rubs) for herself. She adores people, but like many wise older ladies, she also appreciates her independence and quiet time.

Her favorite activities include short strolls, relaxing nearby while her humans go about their day, and, of course, collecting as much affection as possible.

All Buie truly needs is a calm environment, a comfy spot to nap, and someone who can share their love with a sweet old dog who truly deserves a cozy and caring home.

Because Buie is a senior, she does take medication to help keep her joints comfortable and her old bones feeling their best.  The Animal Protection League will cover all of her care while she’s in foster, including food, medications, and veterinary visits, and there is no fee for fostering — so cost should never be a barrier to giving this wonderful girl a loving place to call home.

The adoption fee is less important to us than finding Buie her forever-home.

Both fostering and adopting start with completing an application, which you can find at the link below.

If you think you could help Buie enjoy the comfort and love she deserves in her golden years, please reach out to learn more about fostering or adopting her.
