Adoption Information

APL believes the suffering of unwanted animals will end only when people become more responsible about pets, and unwanted litters are prevented. All animals adopted from APL have been spayed or neutered. If you are thinking about adopting a pet, please read this guideline first. APL adopts cats and dogs to responsible people who can offer the animal a good home. There is an adoption fee that helps cover the cost of the spay/neuter and all other health care the animal has received while at the shelter. The current fees start at $100 for a cat and $250 for a dog. You can visit the animals during regular business hours 10am-3pm. Also, APL regularly advertises available pets in The State newspaper Classified Pet Section. Please call 803-783-2119 or e-mail the shelter at to request additional information
